Last week our choir participated in The Kids Sing, which is an event organised by the NZ Choral Federation. It is held each year at the Auckland Town Hall. Mr Read, our choir director, worked intensively with our students. They were well prepared and ready to sing. In the evening a Gala Concert was held for parents and whanau when the choir sang again. Congratulations to our amazing Choir and to Mr Read. A special thank you to Mrs Bird for supporting our choir once again, as our pianist. Kids Sing 2018
The Puhinui Choir recently took part in the New Zealand Choral Federation Kids Sing which was held in the Auckland town hall . Choirs from all over Auckland came to compete and there were some very talented choirs and singers there. During the day we sang 3 pieces, Orestias, Le masina e and the test piece that every choir had to sing was Three Fine Ships. The Adjudicator marked the choirs but we had to wait until the concert at night to find out how we did.
At the concert every choir sang two songs. It was very exciting being up on stage in front of a big audience and we were a little bit nervous! All the audience seemed to enjoy our singing, especially Le Masina e. We were all so proud when our results were read out, Gold and the Adjudicator’s Award! It was a really exhausting day but we were all very proud of our achievements!
